Aloha Tower - Clarence Kinney

Oheohe Aloha Tower a`e kû nei
Kilakila i ke awa a`o Honolulu

`O ka ipu kukui e `anapanapa
Kou mâlamalama u`i kelakela

Nâu e malama a`e helu pono
I ka manawa pololei a`o ke kaona

`O kâu hana mau la `o ka ho`okipa
O nâ malihini a e pôhai nei

Ha`ina ka puana me ka maluhia
Oheohe Aloha Tower a`e kû nei

Aloha Tower stands tall and majestic
At the harbor of Honolulu

Your beacon light shines bright
Beaming with a beautful glow

It's you that keeps a careful watch and
Maintains the accurate time for the town

Your function is to welcome
The visitors that gather here

Here now the refrain with peace
Aloha tower stands tall

Source: - In 1924, construction began on Aloha Tower, a 10-story skyscraper, at the cost of $190,000. It was completed in a year and a half and became the landmark of Honolulu. The 4 clocks, each face 12 feet in diameter and facing different directions, were made of bronze and weighed 7 tons each. The beacon could be seen 20 miles out at sea. This was composed in 1928 to honor Aloha Tower. Translater unknown
