Hanohano No `O Hawai`i - by Alice Ku`uleialohapoina`ole Nämakelua

Kuahiwi nani `oe e Mauna Kea la e
Kaulana `oe a puni na moku la e
Hanohano no `o Hawai`i

Ha`aheo Hawai`i me kona nani la e
`Ohu`ohu i ka pua a`o ke lehua la e
`O kou wehi mau ia

Onaona Puna i ke `ala o ka hala la e
Ua wiki pü `ia me ka maile la e
He aloha no `o Pana`ewa

Ha`ina `ia mai ka puana la e
Kaulana `oe a puni na moku la e
Hanohano no `o Hawai`i
You are a beautiful mountain, O Mauna Kea
You are famous around the islands
Honored is Hawai`i

Hawai`i is proud of its beauty
Decked out in the flower of the lehua
That is ever your adornment

Sweet is Puna with the fragrance of the hala
Entwined with the maile
Beloved is Pana`ewa

The story is told
You are famous around the islands
Honored is Hawai`i
