Ku`u Lei Hoku (My Wreath of Stars) - Traditional

Aia Honolulu ku`u lei hoku lâ
E kau mai lâ i Kaimana Hila

Ua `ike `Ihi`ihi-lau-âkea lâ
I ka puka `ana a`e o Hôkûloa

Kau pono a`e la i Waikahalulu lâ
I ke kikowaena helu `ekahi

Ho`okahi na pua lawa ku`u lei
Hia`ai `ia nei e nâ manu

Ku`u lei hulu mamo hulu melemele
Ka lei hoku a`o Hawai`i nei

Ha`ina `ia mai ana ka puana
Aia i Honolulu ku`u lei hoku

There at Honolulu is my lei of stars
Appearing upon Diamond Head

At `Ihi`ihi-lau-âkea we saw
The Morning Star rising

It was good to be at Waikahalulu
The neighborhood center is number one

One flower is sufficient for my lei
The delight of the birds

My yellow mamo feather lei is esteemed
The lei of stars of Hawai`i nei

Tell the refrain
There at Honolulu is my lei of stars
