2020 Hula Competition Home

The 57th Annual Merrie Monarch Festival (2020) hula competition that was previously scheduled from April 16-18, 2020 has been cancelled due to the threat posed by the ongoing Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The 2020 Merrie Monarch Festival cancellation notice was posted on Facebook and Instagram on Thursday, March 12, 2020. The Merrie Monarch Festival was supposed to have started this week, but it was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.Though it won't happen this year, Hawaii News Now is offering another way to enjoy the spirit of hula: with Culture Week!
